Prezentul continuu
(Present continuous)
Introducere
Folosim prezentul continuu pentru a vorbi despre:- o acțiune care are loc chiar acum (1)
- o acțiune care se întâmplă în această perioadă (2) (a început în trecut și continuă acum, până la un moment dat în viitor)
- un aranjament precis în viitor (3).
Exemple:
- Please be quiet. I'm watching television. (1)
- She's studying Italian at the university. (2)
- They’re booking the hotel tomorrow. (3)
Partea I - Forma afirmativă a prezentului continuu
Formăm prezentul continuu cuprezentul verbului "be" ("am", "is", "are")
+ verbul principal cu terminația "ing" (participiul prezent).
De exemplu:

| He / She / It | 's / is | working | in the city. |

Pentru a crea o propoziție negativă, folosim forma negativă a verbului "be" –‘m not (am not)
isn’t (is not),
aren’t (are not).
De exemplu:
