Introduzione

Il tempo future simple viene usato per parlare del futuro nei modi seguenti:

• predizioni
• decisioni spontanee
• offerte
• promesse.

Esempi

• "We’re having a picnic tomorrow. It will rain."
• "Will you go to the party?" "Hmm ... yes, I will go to the party."
• "You look tired. I will make you a cup of tea."
• "I will finish the work tomorrow."

Le frasi che usano il future simple per predizioni spesso iniziano con "think", per esempio:

I You We They	think don't think
He She It	thinks doesn't think

Esempi

• I think she will win the match.
• She doesn't think they will arrive on time.

Per "I" e "We" possiamo usare "shall" al posto di "will" - è più formale:

• I shall go to the party.
• We shall visit him later.

Nelle domande è come dare un suggerimento:

• Shall we go to the cinema?
• Shall I open the window?

N.B. Non usare "will" per parlare di piani o programmi che hai già deciso di fare. Per questi devi usare "going to" o il present continuous per il futuro.

• I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow.
• She's going to visit her aunt at the weekend.

Forma - future simple positivo

Usiamo "will" + l'infinito del verbo principale (senza "to").

Forma - future simple negativo

Per formare una frase negativa usiamo "won't" ("will not") + l'infinito del verbo principale (senza "to").
