Introducere

Timpul viitor simplu este folosit pentru a vorbi despre viitor în următoarele feluri:

• predicții
• decizii spontane
• oferte
• promisiuni.

Exemple

• "We’re having a picnic tomorrow. It will rain."
• "Will you go to the party?" "Hmm ... yes, I will go to the party."
• "You look tired. I will make you a cup of tea."
• "I will finish the work tomorrow."

Propozițiile în care folosim viitorul simplu pentru a face o predicție încep, de obicei, cu "think". Spre exemplu:

I You We They	think don't think
He She It	thinks doesn't think

Exemple

• I think she will win the match.
• She doesn't think they will arrive on time.

Pentru "I" și "We" putem folosi "shall" în loc de "will" – sună mai formal:

• I shall go to the party.
• We shall visit him later.

În cazul întrebărilor, subliniază o sugestie:

• Shall we go to the cinema?
• Shall I open the window?

Notă: Nu folosiți "will" pentru a vă referi la planuri sau aranjamente pe care deja ați decis să le realizați. În acest caz, trebuie să folosiți "going to" sau prezentul continuu pentru viitor.

• I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow.
• She's going to visit her aunt at the weekend.

Forma afirmativă a viitorului simplu

Folosim "will" + infinitivul verbului principal (fără "to").

Exemple

		make	dinner.
		return	the money.

Pentru a forma o propoziție negativă folosim "won't" ("will not") + infinitivul verbului principal (fără "to").
