Introdução

A primeira estrutura condicional é usada para falar sobre possibilidade no futuro - algo que vai ou não vai acontecer no futuro, dependendo do cumprimento de determinadas condições.

Exemplos

"If they win the match,	I will buy them dinner."
Se isso acontecer...	... isso irá acontecer.
Se isso não acontecer...	...isso não irá acontecer.

"If you study hard,

you will pass the exam."

"If she sings well,

she will win the competition."

Form

A first conditional sentence contains two clauses: aoração condicional “if” e a oração principal.

Para fazer a cláusula "if", usamos:
"if" + tempo presente.

Para fazer a cláusula principal, nós usamos:
tempo futuro.

A cláusula "if" pode ser usada em primeiro o segundo lugar. O significado é exatamente o mesmo: -------------------

• If they are late, we will leave without them.
• We will leave without them if they are late.

Quando a cláusula "if" é usada primeiro há uma vírgula entre as cláusulas.

• "if" implica na possibilidade
• "when" implica que é certeza.

• If I get home late, we won’t have dinner.
• When I get home, we’ll have dinner.

"Unless" significa "except if" ou "if + not".
