Einführung

Die konditionale Struktur Typ I wird verwendet, um über die Möglichkeit in der Zukunft zu sprechen - etwas, das in der Zukunft in Abhängigkeit davon, dass bestimmte Bedingungen erfüllt sind, geschehen oder nicht geschehen wird.

Beispiele

"If they win the match,	I will buy them dinner."
Wenn dies geschieht ...	... wird dies geschehen.
Wenn dies nicht geschieht ...	... wird dies nicht geschehen.

"If you study hard,

you will pass the exam."

"If she sings well,

she will win the competition."

Form

Ein erster Bedingungssatz enthält zwei Satzteile: den „If"-Clause und den Hauptsatz.

Um den „If"-Clause zu bilden, verwenden wir:
„If" + das Präsens.

Um den Hauptsatz zu bilden, verwenden wir:
das Futur.

Der „If"-Clause kann an erster oder zweiter Stelle stehen. Die Bedeutung ist genau die gleiche:

• If they are late, we will leave without them.
• We will leave without them if they are late.

Wenn der „If"-Clause zuerst verwendet wird, gibt es ein Komma zwischen den Satzteilen.

Wir können „when" anstelle von „if" verwenden

• „If" impliziert eine Möglichkeit
• „when" impliziert, dass etwas sicher ist.

Zum Beispiel:

• If I get home late, we won’t have dinner.
• When I get home, we’ll have dinner.

Anmerkungen zum Sprachgebrauch in der Mittelstufe

Wir können „unless" anstelle von „if" verwenden.

„Unless" bedeutet „außer wenn" oder „wenn + nicht".

• "You won't be promoted unless you complete the project on time."
• "Unless you pay the fine, the police will take your car."

Die beiden folgenden Sätze haben die gleiche Bedeutung:

• "If you don't read the book, you can't review it."
• "Unless you read the book, you can't review it."
