Mai mult ca perfectul

Introducere

Folosim mai mult ca perfectul (past perfect) pentru a descrie:

acțiuni care s-au terminat înaintea altei acțiuni sau altui eveniment din trecut
evenimente sau experiențe care erau adevărate înaintea unei acțiuni sau unui eveniment din trecut.

Exemple:

They had taken many French lessons by the time they moved to France.
Au fost în Franța în trecut. Au făcut cursuri de limba franceză înainte de asta.
I hadn't eaten Mexican food before I went to Mexico last August.
Am mâncat mâncare mexicană pentru prima dată când am fost în Mexic în august, anul trecut.

Cum se formează

Formăm mai mult ca perfectul folosind "had" + participiul trecut

Pozitiv	I / You / We / They He / She / It	'd had	been	there before.
Negativ		hadn't had not

Exemple

I had been to Thailand twice before I got a job there.
Am obținut o slujbă în Thailanda în trecut. Fusesem în Thailanda de două ori înainte de asta.
